Today is the second Monday of the week, so I am not going to bore you with long talk, I’ll just share with you, my little way of getting traffic to my blog using Google plus social network…
Use of hash tags:
Ahhh… I just learned how to use harsh tag effectively about 2 weeks ago and it feels great using them. The first time I used the hash tag on one of my posts, the impact I got was like x times two of what I was getting from my Google+ network.
One of the main reasons we use social media is to get exposed to a wider reach, right? Exactly like twitter, the Google plus hash tag gets your post from beyond your friends, circles, communities to a wider audience. Take for example; search for #bloggingtips in your community search bar. If the result shows up, check and see how many users are in that hash search result.
Tip: Use as many hash tags when making the comment to your post, like the example image above. Using more hash tag will cut your blog post to even more and wider audience…
Hey! If you have not started using the Google plus hash tag, start using it now to help your blog reach audience you’ve always dreamt of and gain more traffic from what you have been getting 🙂
Join as many communities as possible:

I have joined like 10 active communities and these communities sure rocks 😀 . Some of these guys +1 your post, while some share the post to their cycle and while some comment and give you props (but only if your post is good).
Tips on how to pick and use your communities effectively: when joining a community, make sure you join the community with larger users and check if the community is that active.
How do you know if the community is active: simple! Just check the latest post link, or comment made by it users.
After you must have find yourself a better community, make sure before you drop any links read community guidelines so you won’t be flag as spammer. After that make sure you use hash tag (as a combination) in the comment area, so you can double your traffic you get from Google+
Linking your Site to your Google plus account:
We all know what this last tip does, right? In case you don’t know, it helps an author claim his site, makes your site more visible and which we all know it’s a good thing, right?
Now with this, it goes beyond just your Google social network. Doing this, you can also be getting valuable traffic from Google search engine as well. Now tell me, who wouldn’t want that.

I couldn’t agree with you more – G+ is really coming up, in-fact it’s got great potential that we all still need to tap.
Let me share another secret with you. While you add the hastags in the comments and join communities, I share the hastags when I share my post on G+, so this ways all those who are in your circles, and the ones who read the hastags you have added, would be reading your post – it’s not just limited to the comments that ways.
I’d tried this long back when G+ came up, and it’s been working perfectly for me. I’ve yet to join more communities than I already have joined, though the interaction there takes time, which is something I need to create 🙂
Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead 🙂
Seriously, i only just learned about the hash thing some weeks back and i am just loving every hash i make 🙂
I just hope that there are some more new moves that i haven’t discovered yet :D. Thanks for the contribution, this means a lot to all who wants to generate traffic from G+. have a nice week ahead my friend 🙂
Use of Hashtags is really popular in both twitter and Google plus and the most common way to drive more traffic. I don’t know why Facebook doesn’t use it.
Great post. Cheers..
at least Facebook uses the @ signs 🙂 But they are yet to make some more improvements. Thanks for stopping by mate
Great info here!I’m just getting to utilize Google+.I like the idea of preventing thieves from stealing your work. I have to work on that part. I spent a couple of hours last week trying to learn Google+, but this Hub has helped me a lot.
Then i guess we are both in the same race in searching for more ways to utilize the Google plus social network 🙂 Thanks for your comments.
I use this social media platform but haven’t succeeded yet particularly to aim for traffic. I’d prefer facebook and linkedin though. I will your simple tips and look how it going to work for my blog 🙂
My number one traffic source are stumbleupon and facebook, i just recently added Google+ and i am seeing great results. you should try it and see a different results. Thanks for the comment and do have your self a lovely week 🙂
Nice post. When comparing to Google+, i prefer stumbleupon, linkedin and facebook for getting traffic. Here, stumbleupon and linkedin is google friendly sites. Google+ is the product of Google, but the communities and groups for blogging is very less when compare to facebook and social networks.
Yeah… stumbleupon just can’t be compared with. Google have the largest users and aside from benefiting from the social network, you will also benefit from search engine. And who doesn’t want traffic from the big giants? 🙂
All things are expressed in beautiful way .. Thank you for sharing this beautiful post
Nice to hear that Aditya, do have a nice week…
Hey bro what are hash tags?
Hash tags are used to add context to your ‘Tweet’ or ‘Google+’ within a theme or event. for example; this post is great for #bloggers.
okkkkkkkkkkkkk Thanx bro
You are welcome…
Very informative post baba ! AS Google plus is one of the premier product (social networking) of GOOGLE , if used as a medium of traffic generation …there’s no doubt that your websites pages would be quickly indexed and you’ll get very high quality backlinks
Couldn’t agree with you more Pramod. I can see that you still haven’t gotten a gravatar? Do get one so you’ll look professional. Thanks for the comment and do have a nice week ahead 🙂
This is an interesting topic.I’m not all that active on G plus but hey I know I ought to change my perception about them and that will be through this post!
Ahhh… you haven’t been using the Google+ social network? You should try using it and see how it goes bro. Do have a fabulous week ahead…
This post definitely gives me the motivation to get to know G+ even more. This is something I’m going to add to my G+ repertoire with analytics and webmaster tools. Thanks for sharing this info. Babanature!
You’re highly welcome, Sherman 🙂
Very Informative Article I Also Use G+ Communities For Driving Traffic to My Blog 🙂 And You Know It Drives More Traffic to My Blog Than Facebook Groups 😛
You have definitely said it all. thanks for the comment and have a blessed week ahead 🙂
thank you for sharing information about hashtags, the truth is i do not have any idea that hash tag is not only useful in twitter and facebook but also in google plus
Facebook don’t use hash tags yet, don’t know why though. Tweeter and Google plus are the only social network using it for now…
well that is strange because i have many fb friends who are using hashtags. i am not comfortable of using it yet
They just rolled it out. I can see my friends have started using it and i’ll say that’s nice but it looks like it’s not yet popular…
here is an example. i got this through clicking #consciousness in Living in Law of Attraction
I definitely agree with you! G+ rocks! It makes us reach a wider audience, and thus driving us a fresh and unlimited traffic so long as we keep the G+ community engaged with our latest posts. Thanks so much baba for sharing.
you are definitely right, ya know! As long as you have fresh and valuable content to share, they will always drive traffic to your domain 🙂 Thanks for stopping by and try and get a gravatar so you will look like a professional blogger…
Thank you for such informative article. I was unknown about the use of #Hashtag, i was using hash in twitter but never used in google+. Will try it, thank you again !
I too was not aware till some weeks back. You can take up this advantage and start building a great targeted traffic to your blog
This is truly an eye opener for me. I’ve been on Google Plus for over a year now but have not really been doing these things except claim my blog. I understood from the beginning that Google Plus has a lot of good for bloggers but did not really care to focus much of it. Thanks for these wake up call!
Google+ is one of the best-est thing that has ever happened to a blogger. Aside for claiming of sites, it can also be use as a tool for business purposes and traffic strategies. Start using the full potential of G+ and see what it can offer. Thanks for stopping by and dropping a comment, i appreciate 😉
Communities are the place to be Babanature.
Sifting through the general stream is OK but targeting your buddies and potential readers by spending most time in groups makes your job easier.
I belong to about 8 communities, 2 of which are tribe sharing groups which I visit daily.
By hanging with leaders you can see a serious traffic surge through Google Plus.
Thanks for sharing!
Good to hear that you are also in some communities and they are doing great driving you traffic. I’ll also say, it is good knowing some valuable hash tags and implementing them will definitely increase your exposure. Thanks for the comment buddy and have a nice week ahead…
Nice post from you Baba!
I tdon’t know that we should use the hash tags in G+, i never used it! How I missed?
Anyway learned it through your post and will do as you told.
Am aware of other two points of G+ to get traffic and thanks for writing the unknown stuffs for the bloggers 🙂
Glad you find the post interesting Nirmala, do have your self a nice week ahead friend 😀
You’re so right, Babanature.
Even if you do not love G+ as a social networking site (which it was meant to be initially), we HAVE to use it because of the value of G+ shares and the mileage that our blog/ website tends to get if we use it.
I couldn’t agree with you more Amika. Have your self a lovely week friend 😉
Google plus really an awesome source to drive traffic for our blog i do agree the points which you have mentioned. Many communities are available make sure to join the right one and share your post and also try to add the people on your circles will help to get more G+ count and reshare enjoyed reading your post
Thanks for the add up Shameem, do have a fabulous week ahead…
I’m so bad about not using hashtags. Okay, I’m from the old school so I don’t abbreviate words either. I type them out, just a pet peeve of mine so getting use to using hashtags is still something I haven’t implemented much. I really need to make a conscious effort to do more of that everywhere really, not just Google+.
I’m not part of a lot of communities, just two so far. I just really don’t have the time to spend in a lot of them and I hate being a part of something I don’t have time for. As you probably can assume, I’ve got a pretty large reach right now as it is so being sure to visit everyone and help promote them is almost a full time job in itself. But I would love to meet some new bloggers and of course introduce them to my place so I’ll have to accept more invitations to join because I have a lot sitting there waiting on me too.
Thanks for another great post with actionable steps everyone can take to improve their traffic through Google+.
Enjoy your week.
That makes us two 🙂 I also hate abbreviations, i still wonder the first person that brought that up 🙂 . With the large community that i joined, before i make a comment to my link, i’ll draft the comment down and place my hash tags that. then when i go to the communities, i’ll just copy and paste. this methods truly helps reduce the writing and hash stress. Thanks for the comment and hope you’re having a fabulous week? 😀
what an awesome post. i never knew GooglePlus also uses hash tags, qill aure try it ans see how it works.
Now you know bro. they even have more tricks behind their sleeves that i will be unleashing very soon…
There’s no way i can use a gravatar since am using Blogger platform. Could that be possible?
Yeah it is highly possible bro, just go to http://gravatar.com and register with your e-mail. It is very simple and it also makes you look even more professional as a blogger.
Great post, I most say.
Can you post a list of recommended communities for bloggers in your niche?
That will be interesting 😉
Sure thing, amma create a post for that so it won’t clutter my comment section. Expect the list on Monday bro 🙂
Good to hear that! I’ll be here on Monday (as usual) to check
Oh this is interesting. I liked how you had a comment module for Google+ but then I saw you also had one here on your blog. This is a great way to offer engagement in two places — nice work!
Yeah, It is great to offer more options to your commentators, right? and that’s what i did 😉 Thanks for stopping by and dropping your comment 🙂
