How To Remove Password From PDF File Without Knowing The Password

I do get my statement of account delivered to my mail by my pension fund administrators. But the statement of account is in a password protected PDF file.

The password to the PDF file is my pension account number. But the truth is I don’t know my pension account number. And if I don’t know my account numbers, there is no possible way I can get access to the statement of account hidden in that PDF file.

The only option to checking my account statement in that encrypted pdf file is to crack it. And how can I view the PDF file without my password? In this post, we’ll discuss how we can easily view what’s in our encrypted PDF file without having the password to it.

How To Remove Password From PDF File

If you have a PDF file that is password protected and you don’t know what the password to the pdf file is, then this post is the key to that problem of yours.

Note: This post is for tutorial purposes only. Please, do not use this method for criminal purposes.

We are going to show you how to easily open a password protected PDF file using three working methods. The first method is using your g-mail account and the other is using brute-force app.

How To Remove Password From PDF File Using Gmail

To make this work, using the browser of your choice, first, transfer the PDF file to a G-mail account if the file is not in your email.

Login to your G-mail >>> once it’s loading, click “load basic HTML” located below your browser.

Now click the email where your locked PDF file is located >>> click “view as HTML”.

Wait till the PDF file loads. After it has successfully loaded, you can now read what’s inside the PDF file as an HTML file.

You can re-save it to whatever format you want. And you won’t have any problem viewing it next time.

How To Remove Password From PDF File Using A Software

There is a software called “PDF password recovery tool” which you can use to open any password protected PDF.

This tool will crack the password protected PDF file… but the time it will use to crack the password depends on the strength of the password.

Now, if you want, you can download the PDF password recovery tool here

After download, extract the zip file to a specified folder

Now open the folder you extracted and double-click on “ACMSETUP” to install the tool.

Have you done so? If yes, the software must have been installed on your PC. Double click to open the tool…

Now we’ll have to set how we want our PDF password recovery tool to work by configuring its settings.

If the password are numbers, go to “Range” and click to tick “All digits”. But if it comprises of both digits, lower case and upper case letters, then tick “All caps Latin”, “All lower Latin” .

Now click on “length” and choose the “Minimum password length” and “Maximum password length

If you have done so, that means you have configured the tool as should have. Now it’s time to crack the password protected PDF file.

Now click on “Open” and find where the password protected PDF file is and click on it to export it to the tool.

It will ask for a password to the PDF file, but since we don’t know the password, we’ll ignore and click start.

And wait for it to crack the password to the PDF file

Remember: your length of your password will decide the time it will crack the PDF file

How To Remove Password From PDF File Using Google Chrome

Now, once the recovery tool has successfully cracked the password, you should open the PDF file using Google Chrome

The reason we are using Google Chrome is because we don’t want the PDF file to prompt us of password again.

Input the password to the PDF file and once it opens, click “Print” or click “Control + P” for the print screen to appear.

In the “Destination” area, click “Change” and click “Save as PDF” then click “Save” and you’re done.

You won’t be asked to input your password before you can access the file again.

Conclusion

I have personally tried all the above-mentioned ways of cracking a PDF file and all the process are working just fine.

But if you should encounter any problem, do not hesitate to drop me a comment so I can help to the best of my ability. 😉

  1. Hi Babanature,

Good to be back to the blogosphere, after a while – as I was away taking care of my ailing dad 🙂

Informative post indeed – one doesn’t realize the passwords that protect pdf’s and sometimes even other files can create a problem to open them unless you know the right way. Glad you mentioned it all here.

Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead 🙂

  3. Hi Babanature,

This is a very useful toturial. I must admit, I have so many PDF files on my system I can’t view because is password protected.

I think the first option is fine for me. I can easily load in basic HTML view via gmail and save then later view in standard PDF format.

    That’s fine for me.

    Thanks for sharing.

    • Hello Maine,

It is working 100%, I’ll advice you to watch the video again, so you’ll know how to use it.

The fewer the password, the quicker it cracks it. So if the PDF file you are trying to crack has a lengthy password, it will take time for it to crack it.

      That’s how it works
