linking your Google AdSense account to your YouTube channel

If you don’t have a Google AdSense account, you can still be able to create one in your YouTube dashboard. But note that you can’t use the AdSense account on any other platform except on YouTube, why? It will be a hosted Google AdSense.

How To Create a Hosted Google AdSense Account Using YouTube

  1. Go to your YouTube channel >>> click your “gravatar” in the top right >>> Click “Creator Studio” to take you to your dashboard.
  2. Inside your dashboard menu (at the left side), click “Channel” >>> click “Monetization” and that’s how to go to your YouTube Monetization Page.
  3. In your YouTube monetization page, go to the “How will I be paid?” section.
  4. From the “AdSense Association” page, click the “Next” step to direct you to AdSense.
  5. Now, re-login to your Google Account.
  6. Accept the Adsense association >>> fill the form that comes up >>> submit your Google AdSense application.
  7. You’ll be redirected back to your YouTube account and will see a message saying that “your AdSense application has been received”.
  8. Adsense will update you by mail once your AdSense account is approved. Your AdSense ID will be updated on the AdSense Association page.

Note: It may take up to 48 hours or so, for the association to be fully active.

  3. Hey Babanature,

YouTube is widely known as the biggest video sharing platform, where users can upload their personal videos and monetize it, using a different video advertisement platform.

This is a great way to earn royalty fees from your YouTube videos. Before, YouTube didn’t allow users to link their Google self-hosted AdSense account, as they had a separate advertising platform.

It was very hard for a YouTube users to monetize videos, because they only accepted channels with a high reputation who update videos regularly, and YouTube broadcasters who filmed professionally. Eventually, thanks for sharing your experience with us and this tuturial will very beneficial for people in order to maximize their productivity level.

    With best regards,

Every vlogger need to get paid for their work and one of the awesome way of getting paid as a blogger is using Google AdSense for YouTube. But the thing is, new bloggers can’t get access to this feature except their videos are making good views.

  4. Hi Babanature,

I have had this hosted YouTube Adsense for some now and never do much with it.

Though I only upload view videos to it and earn very little to nothing. Just $1.96 since. Having the time to create these videos is one problem I’m facing.

Will see how I improve on that in this first quarter of the year and hopefully earn more with my videos on YouTube.

    Thanks for sharing.

  5. Hello Baba,

This is very useful article. Youtube is a top video sharing platform and I guess lots of people are preferring to create their channel and start earning.

I think instead of creating hosted account, we must use blog’s adsense account.

    • Hello Jimmy,

It doesn’t look smart creating a video and you’re not being paid for the hardwork you put online…

Using a hosted AdSense account or a non hosted Adsense account, both are awesome and can do the trick 🙂
