I love the WordPress platform because of its simple but awesome features. WordPress gives you the choice and resources to make your blog exactly the way you imagine it to be.
With the help of WordPress plugin, you do not necessary need to have that coding skill. But using too much might kill your blog speed and your blog might eventually be put down due to excess usage of your bandwidth.

At time there are some category(s) in our blog that we just don’t want to show on our front page. Like on this blog, I have a category based on pure hacking but I do not allow any update on that category to appear on my blog front page. But it still gets indexed by Google, so you can only read those posts when you stumble on it through Google search or go to the category directly 🙂
Do you have a category on your blog that you would like to keep from appearing on your front page of your blog? Then after the below steps will definitely help you.
Disabling a Category from Appearing On Your WordPress Front Page
First, before this process could work, you will need to download a plugin called PE Category Filter
What PE Category Filter plugin does is, it allows you to exclude posts that belong to certain categories from your home page, while they will still be reachable from the inner sections of your site.

Now I wonder why the plugin hasn’t been updated for a while… hmmm… the plugin is still working fine and its compatible with the latest version of WordPress.
Steps
First download the PE Category Filter plugin here
If you’ve downloaded it, simply install it by going to your Admin panel >>> Click “Plugins” >>> Click “Add New” >>> Click “Upload Plugin” >>> Click “Browse” to search for the plugin you just downloaded. If you’ve seen the plugin, simply click the plugin and click “Open” then click “Install Now”.
Now that you have installed the plugin, simply activate the plugin… Have you done that? Let’s move on to the fun part of the show now.
Still in your Admin panel, click “Settings” Click “PECF Plugin”.
In this stage, you will be asked to “Select the categories that you want to exclude from the index”. Now simply tick the boxes of the Categories you don’t want to show on the front page of your blog. see image…
Have you done that? Now click the “Save Changes” Button and you are done with the simple step of removing a category from your blog front page.
Concluding part
This tip will help you if you’re planning on hiding a particular category from showing on your front page. So go test it out and tell me what you think…

Hello Moin,
Thanks and good to know that you liked the article posted here today.
To change your url structure is not that hard… Go to your WordPress dashboard >> Click Settings and click permalinks. There you can change your url structure to whatever how you want it to be.
But do note that an established blog might get into trouble when changing their permalinks except you form a redirect rule.
I’ll definitely write a post on this to better explain.
Thanks for stopping by and dropping your comment. Do have a blessed day ahead…
