8 Killer Ways Of Getting More Comments To Your Blog Post

Getting people to comment on your blog might look hard but in real sense, it doesn’t or does it? Well commenting can play a big role in the blogging world like; it shows how engaged a blog is, it even goes a long way to show how interactive and interesting your blog posts are. Whether you like to admit it or not, blog commenting gives you that word we call “credibility”.

comment-love

Every bloggers that are into blogging today needs comment(s) because without comment, your blog will look like a desert which will give the impression that your blog post is BORING and your website do not have engagement (much) which is bad for business. With those great comments playing with your blog post, will even tell search engine that “hey! My post is alive so put it on the first page”

If you have not been receiving comments on your blog I totally understand what you’re going through because at a time I was in that same shoe till I accidentally stumbled on a post about getting comments to ones blog by Adrienne Smith. After reading her post, I was inspired because she was also in that same shoe at a time and now she receives 100s of comments on each of her posts (the comment queen 😉 ). This gave me hope that me too can get at least some comments on my blog (even if I don’t get as much). On the long run, I started getting some comments. The reason I am getting some few comments on my blog is not because I’m popular or good enough but because I’m showing love and I am getting the love back in return which I feel is great. Well the tricks of getting comments is not that hard but still, it is very hard for any lazy blogger. Do you want commentators to comment on your blog? Then hey! Follow this few steps I learned from the queen of comment herself…

LET’S GET SOME COMMENT LUV GUYS

Ok guys! The first step on my list will be…

comment on my blog post

1. Get people to read your blog: The first thing any blogger should be thinking about is how to get people reading their content, right? This involves the scope of traffic. With traffic you can get people coming to your blog every day, reading your blog post which is a good thing, right? When you get people visiting you, at least few will want to drop a thank you comment (if your content is helpful), But what if the reader come to your blog and discovered that your content sucks! Which takes us to our number two (2) step, which is…?

Must Read: 10 SOLID WAYS OF GETTING 1500 VISITS PER DAY: TRAFFIC STUDY

2. Good content: With a good and informative content, your reader will surely stay longer than usual and even make them engage with you (your blog) even more. But good content just doesn’t cut it; you need to write the post like you are explaining to your readers in real life. Try to add that thing called twist, feelings and also sprinkle that thing called flavor to the series so it will look more interesting and keep your readers thinking; “where is he going” or “how did he do it”.

Once your post has all in one, it will make your readers “wow” and always wanting to come back for more. That’s a fact or is it not?

Even with your interesting content, you wouldn’t just end the show just like that; you need to give the speech one last flavor which draws us to our next tips.

3. Ask and it shall be given: Feeling shy to ask? Or feeling you’re the superman of our time? Hey! Put that hat down and ask your reader for comment. Don’t worry, it won’t hurt if you ask for comment but just do it the way they’ll want to comment like;

Ask questions at the end of your post

Ask for comment contributions

Ask for comments and thoughts

Doing these, you will not believe how some good and faithful readers will drop something. I believe that the reason you’re not seeing or getting any comment is because you’re just not asking for. Some readers who read your post wants to be reminded so hey! Give them the reminder. Start asking and it shall be given unto you 😉

4. Give them reason to comment: This part will be shared in two parts which are;

* Use the “ReplyMe” plugin for your blog and you’ll be glad you did. Many people will come to your blog either by Google or other means and drop a comment and when they leave your blog, they’ll not remember your URL address to come check what their reply will be which sucks. Those kinds of people are known as passerby, but you can always bring those people back to your blog and making them your faithful readers/ commenters, but how do we do that? When you install the ReplyMe plugin, if somebody leaves a comment on your blog and you reply the person, the person will receive a message in his/ her email that their comment has been answered. she/ he can read the reply from their mail and maybe come back for more comments. So you see that this plugin can even engage more.

* Many bloggers are looking for ways to promote their recent blog post and your blog might be that area for them to perform such. How do I mean; install that plugin called comentLuv so when a blogger stop by your blog, they’ll want to comment. What commentluv does is; will fetch out your recent posts and display it below your comment when you make a comment on a commentluv enabled blog. How awesome can that get?

Note: If you are using commentluv premium, they have already embed the ReplyMe plugin to it to make its feature even more interesting.

Hey! Before you’ll actually get that comment you need to shower some love to other bloggers and communities that are (commentLuv enabled). This brings us to our next tip.

5. Comment on other blogs: Do you show other bloggers love by commenting on their blog? Are you telling me you’re too busy to comment? Then why do you blog? Blog commenting on other blogs bring connection as well as comment back to you.

There are some bloggers who returns the favor when you comment on their website/ blog but some don’t but whichever the case is, comment to as many blog as possible. Even if the owner of that blog does not return the favor, some other commentators on that blog will actually stumble on your blog and make that comment. Don’t worry, as long as that blog is commentluv enabled and you drop a lovely and catchy comment, they’ll visit and drop you a comment

My advice to you is when you see a comment on your blog always reply to every single one and make sure to visit the commenters blog and return the favor. With this, you will surely get some faithful commentators. I’m I right or I’m I right?

6. Simple comment form: Where do you want me to comment? Do you want me to signup before I can make a comment? Gosh! Ok bye bye…

How is your comment section area? Is it the kind that makes people (bloggers like me and you) wants to comment? Hey buddy you need to have a good comment system that encourage people to comment. For your information; I will never register with your blog just to make a comment; if I want to register on your blog, it has to be on freewill and not you forcing me to. Goodbye bro I am moving on to the next blog to ask my question.

The default wordpress comment section is okay but why would you put a difficult comment box? If you have an answer please use the comment box to answer it so i’ll know your reason.

7. Pray for your work to be fruitful: keep praying and doing some tweak that will come in handy. Who knows you might be the next Comment queen or king ;).

  1. Great post! Many thanks! Interaction with your readers is the second very important thing, after content itself of course! You know, I read somewhere how to identify a lazy blogger? You are a lazy blogger when you don’t comment! Well, we are all humans of course and have many faults, but when it comes to blogging the laziness has to be minimal!

  2. HI Babanature,

    Great post!

I’m a firm believer that commenting on the relevant blog is really helpful in making great connections. CommentLuv has really helped in many ways to ease the process of commenting.

Thanks a lot for this share.

Aside from the love sharing, commenting on other blogs can go a long way than gaining traffic and making connection. i’d say that comment is one of the best feature in the blogging world. Thanks for the comment and do have a lovely week ahead.

  3. What a nice surprise Babanature, thank you so much for that wonderful mention.

That’s what I love about blogging, we can all learn from each other. The tips you’ve shared here are spot on and it takes time before we all kind of “find our place” and our own unique writing style. You’ll eventually start getting the right people coming to your blog if you’re kind enough to share theirs.

Now you KNOW I’m a huge CommentLuv lover, especially the premium version. I don’t think any blog should be without the ReplyMe plug-in but you know the concern I had which is why Andy included this one as well. He even admitted that the visits to his blog picked up after installing that one to his plug-in. We would never steer him wrong.

Great share Babanature and thank you again for the mention, I’m truly touched.

Yeah! Andy really did a great job with the plugin. he really did give bloggers more reason to comment on ones blog. but were you the one that gave the idea that he should add the replyme plugin to the commentluv? just curious;)

      • I did email Andy and request that he look into including the ReplyMe plug-in. I wasn’t the only one though. Two other ladies also wanted it so he dove into some research to see if it was something that he could do and it was. So yes, I was one of those that brought it to his attention.

  4. Hi Babanature,
Well I see you learned from our mutual friend Adrienne Smith. Sometimes I try to race to be a number one commentor on her blog, but so far I was number 8.
When her blog comes out and you want to comment on it, you have to do a lot of scrolling in order to get there right?
I have found that I have received more comments on my blog because I get out there and comment on other people’s blogs. I have a gravatar and also leave a good comment. Never a one liner! In turn, people come to my blog (for the most part)
When we comment other people on that blog see it, and sometimes they will come over to yours too. Hey, that’s what we do, we not only blog, but we blog-hop and learn from others.
As I mentioned, a gravatar is important and should be one of the person’s face. I don’t accept blank ones, only one in a while.
Also CommentLuv Premium is the best plug in I have. Without it, I would surely have less comments on my blog.
I must say the best advice you have given here is number 7 – Pray! Many people don’t realize the power prayer has. I pray before I write a blog, asking for the best thing I can do for another person. I firmly believe it works. If it wasn’t for prayer, I wouldn’t have even started my on line business….but that is a story for another day!
    Great job!

you really did speak right. commenting on other blog with good and valuable comment will draw people to your blog. I also feel as a blogger, it is best to enable gravatar to your email.
      prayer is the master key…
Thanks for stopping by and dropping such great comment. do have a great week

  5. Engaging with your readers is absolutely crucial. I love it (like many others) when people comment on my blog and I always make a point of commenting back on theirs. It does amaze me though how many people don’t do this…it is like a one way communication. Why blog if you don’t want to communicate with others? You have raised some great tips here and if followed will surely lead to more comments 🙂

    • Hello Catherine,
You really did speak well. commenting on other blog will definitely bring commenters back to your blog even if the owner do not stop by your blog, others will surely stop by and give you appreciation if the post is worth commenting on.
Thanks for your comment and do have a blissful week ahead

  6. Wonderful post Babanature!

Those sure are apt ways to get more comments on your blog – I couldn’t agree more. 🙂

Yes indeed, Adrienne’s been an inspiration to all of us. More so, I think I’ve picked up a lot of things from her and I never fail to admit that, and the way to comment also has a bit of her in it. She is awesome, though she really doesn’t know how many of us she helps knowingly or unknowingly.

I agree with the CommentLuv premium version, and even though you might not get back a comment when you comment on someone’s blog, you do get to leave your link along with your comment, just as you mentioned, which if people like, they would surely visit your blog. It’s happened with a lot of times.

Yes, writing content that people can relate to, or for the people is what gets more people to come and comment on your blog because they can relate to it. And if you visit their blogs, they mostly would return the favor, though some just won’t! I too hate those blogs where you have to fill those form in order to leave comments – I would just leave without commenting!

Thanks for sharing these great ways with us. 🙂 Have a nice week ahead 🙂

  7. Getting comments on a post is not all that easy, even well established blogs suffer to get comments. It is also believed that only one out of hundred visitors would leave a comment.

Writing a hanging post is an ideal way of also getting comments. One should not digest all that is needed when writing as this will also let your readers also add some points.

  10. I want to purchase CL from an affiliate link but i have a few questions before I purchase. What does Unlimited License mean, does it mean I can use CL on multiple blogs? I have quite a few blogs. Is it a one time purchase or do I have to pay to upgrade to latest version, if so how much and how often? When I install CL on my blog, what will happen to comments that are already on my blog, will it disappear? Do they offer an affiliate program that clients can access

    • You really did ask so much about so much but the developer is in a better situation to answer those questions. On your last question; when you install it, it wont remove or do anything to your previous comments but any other comments that follows will have a link below it if the commentator input his website.

  11. I think this completely correct. And more than that, just commenting for a link can turn other people off. If I see a site connected with an irrelevant or spammy looking comment, I certainly won’t click that link and I might even remember it the next time I come across it on the web.
I strongly believe comments should be genuine, insightful and relevant. If the blogger has taken the time to write a good post, the least they deserve is a decent, heartfelt comment.
If your comment is awesome, the blogger will figure out who you are and what your site it about. Then, they should realize that your site is also awesome and become a fan.

The best way to get your blog known is to put it out there, right? blog commenting or blog hopping is one of that ways that one can get his blog out. There are some website that don’t worth commenting on and there are still some sites that do not want people to comment on. but which ever one it’ll be, it is good to comment on blogs that are none spammy. Thanks for the comment and do have a great day…

  13. Great points!

I have used most of the points you mentioned to build my own thriving community of readers who comment on my blog. I think with anything good times is a requirement. We can’t just think we can start a blog and get a lot of comments right away(unless your a celebrity or famous). It requires consistently putting effort and time into build relationships and a community.

I just found your blog through the comments of a different blog and look forward to connecting with you more and reading your blog.

  14. Blogs and articles that do not get comments is a direct indication of how poor the content is. Every blogger or writer should strive to post quality contents; readers will always be coming back for more and they would want to contribute their own opinion.

I am running a niche community website; comments will definitely make me know how effective my contents are.
