obama-awesome-blog

Still in “memory” lane – I still remembered the first time I created my first ever website, that was back in 2009. Then, I did know the basic of having a site and all but I seriously did not know much about blog promotion or how to make money with my blog. Heck, I did not even know if alexa or Google page rank exist, funny right? That was because I never had a mentor when I started out my blogging journey…

Tips to use stumble to your advantage:

Before you start stumbling your posts, try to gather as many following as possible. Your following will give you more exposure and will also reduce the bounce you will be getting from stumbleupon.

Google plus:

Okay here is a secret – ever since I know the full potential of Google plus, I have made it my second home :).

Are you asking why I love Google Plus? I love Google plus because it makes your blog post get indexed faster than normal, it gives you more referral traffic and visibility in Google search :).

The thing is Google plus don’t work well for all and why is that? Because they just don’t know how to use the social network.

Join some Google+ Communities to boost your G+ social presents

Facebook

The number one social networking in the world and the second most popular site in the world.

Facebook is one cool way to get valuable and reasonable amount of traffic without much stress. Some Good place for traffic

Pinterest

Linkedin

Freindsfeed

Delicious and more…

If you can do the little steps I mentioned above, I am sure you will start seeing changes in your traffic growth.

Now let move on to the next chapter shall we?

Posting subsequently/frequntly:

To be honest with you, creating a blog is easy. It’s so easy that you can create a nice looking blog within 5mins but the stressful part of blogging is, posting regularly, promoting always and strategizing new ways to make money with your blog.

Creating that awesome blog you always dream of takes a lot of skills and if you don’t have these skills, the blogging race might be extra difficult… like for instance; a successful blog never runs out of content because the day you stop making post, from there on you will be losing some faithful readers and know blogger wants that, right?

Sometimes, I do run out of ideas but I still come up with post. How do I always come up with unique contents every time? (If you have an awesome blog but don’t have ideas for your next post this will help)

Go to Question and Answer sites:

I start with Q/A sites because they are one of the best places to get quality and seo friendly post ideas from.

There are millions of people who ask questions everyday and million of the people asking questions, are asking the same questions but in different ways :).

Now you can create a post round the question you see on Q/A sites. Doing this, you will get more ideas to write even more and also doing so will increase your traffic by 10 times.

Forums and social bookmarking sites are great places to get post ideas from:

You will never know the power of forum till you join a successful one 🙂 .

When I started blogging newly, I thought going to forums is just another waste of time. But after exploring and getting to know how they operate, my next best home after social networks and Q/A sites, became forums 🙂

You can get post idea from other members, who ask related question to a post,

You can get ideas from unfinished posts

You can get ideas from other members post as well

It’s your choice…

Your comment section is a gold mine for your next big blog post idea.

Believe it or not, the topic you write today cannot be covered in just one post, except the post will be 100,000 words long. The 100,000 words might not even be enough… (That’s the truth)

Some commenters will like to contribute some few lines – you can convert that and make it your next post.

Some commenter ask questions – answer the question the best way you can but make sure you use that comment to form a post to better explain it.

Remember: If one person asks you a question, note that there are millions of people looking for that same answer to that same question somewhere.

Concluding part:

They say people find it hard to read long post, but this post will teach you how to increase your traffic and also how to write seo friendly post without doing much seo 🙂

Remember that to increase your earnings, you must have valuable traffic and also remember that the best way to get traffic that will stick with you, is to form a bond with your readers and as well as your networks.

Over to You:

It looks like I have said so much about so much my friends, now it is time to pass the keyboard to you guys.

  1. Hi Babanature,

That was indeed a wonderful post 🙂

Yes, being on ALL these social networks and bookmarking sites would surely make your blog awesome, and who wouldn’t want that! But the only problem I come across is how can one be on all of these places always. I do try my best and I am on most of the ones you mentioned but I still have to find time for forums and question/answers.

Pinterest is another great addition to the above where your posts stay for the longest period of time, so if you are not there – you surely miss out on a lot of traffic too. Stumbleupon is great too, and they have tribe on Triberr where you can join and reciprocate each others visits too. I think the more you do, the better it is for you and your blog.

Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead 🙂

    1. Hello Harleena,
setting your time spent on each social networks will surely make you reach all. :). Right, I don’t promote my blog like i used to because of many reasons but i never miss the above sites because they drive in tons of traffic.
Pinterest is a great place to get traffic from but it needs serous study to make it work for you very well. Ahhh. i am still learning how pinteret works (in terms of traffic).
Thanks for the comment and do have a good week ahead…

  2. Hi Babanature,

Thanks for sharing some of your tips with some of us who have less experience. I love Reddit! I will take your advice and try StumbleUpon. Lately LInkedIn has started driving more traffic, and that is due to sharing insights before sharing posts. I think that is very important for someone that wants traffic from LinkedIn.

    1. Hello Amiti,
Ahhh… linkedin is one cool place to get reasonable amount of traffic as well. especially when you’re in some active groups.
Thanks for your lovely comment and do have a beautiful week ahead

  3. This is a very insightful post. One thing I also think is important is perseverance. It takes great belief in what you’re doing to continue doing it even when it’s not working out yet. Thanks for the post.

  4. Traffic and coming up with post on a frequent basis is one major challenge most bloggers face. When i began blogging i had same until i found a simple solution to writer’s block.

I learnt to schedule posts ahead of time, that way i will have ample time on my hand to make new researches and to promote my blog for more traffic. You have clearly preferred solutions and i must say they are great ones and any blogger that follows these ideas will most definitely improve both traffic and post quality and the frequency of publication.

I found this article on Kingged.com and also left a comment on it.

    1. Hello Nwosu,

It is good to know that you have found a way to counter the dreadful writers block. I am sure people who read this will get enough ideas.
Thanks and do have a wonderful week ahead

  5. Great post you have here. indeed, traffic generation is very important but it can be a little bit difficult to get the desired traffic.
I use most of the traffic generation methods shared in this post and I can say they work pretty well.
Thanks for sharing your tips with us.

  6. Hello Babanature,

This is a super insightful post: blogging is by no means a simple task and any ideas about traffic and monetization must be taken very seriously for these are the two most important pillars of blogging!

While I agree with all the traffic sources mentioned here, I am not very comfortable with StumbleUpon. While my Analytics report show that I get quite a decent traffic from there, it also indicates that that traffic has the highest bounce rate and lowest engagement rates amongst all the other traffic sources!

Facebook (especially targeted Facebook groups) are great and I cannot forget G+ in a second! Entries shared there get indexed as quickly as 3 minutes and that means the traffic starts flowing straight away!

Great entry I must say…however, you failed to mentioned Kingged.com. Kingged is where I found this article and it has been a very great traffic source for me in the past weeks.

    Always,
    Terungwa

    1. Hello Akaahan,
Yes, you will get alot of bounce if your only aim is to just post your link on stumble upon. Remember that the best way to build traffic is to build connection.

Hmmm… I haven’t been to king.com because they have not shown on part of my traffic source 🙂 . Maybe with time, i’ll join if i start seeing progress from there.
Thanks for the comment and do have a good week ahead…

      1. Babanature,

It isn’t about the connection…StumbleUpon has a very high reader base whose main interest is to ‘check out’ the entries they see. Once after maybe 20 or 30 entries, you get a reader who really doen’t bounce off. I have spent quite some time there, friend. Still, no change.

About Kingged, you may wish to give it a try for a week and if it does not work for you, then you may drop the idea. This is because for me, it was when I really became active that I started seeing Kingged on my Analytics report.

        Always,
        Terungwa

  7. I just finished read your article Babanature and I must agree with those saying some people find pretty difficult to read long posts and here we can mention those people looking answers in kinda a hurry.

I did not tried stumbleupon, reedit, in general small networks as I find them just waste of time and I have faith in my SEO efforts.

Works wonders the facebook like button, thanks for doing this, I’ll still get a new monitor in a week or so, (actually when Adsense sends my money)

Thanks for sharing Babanature, see you next time my friend!

PS: can you share the reason why you don’t let readers to choose from last 10 post in commentLUV, as you can see my forum last post don’t really fit with this article, if I could choose previous one would be awesome. Do not get upset on me, I just asked why, that’s it bro’ 😀

    1. Hey Daniel,
The reason i don’t open for more post is simply because i only want people to promote their recent posts and not their older post. But soon, after i finish my background construction, i will make the option to choose from 10 posts 🙂

Thanks for the comment and do have a blessed week ahead…

  8. Hi Babanature,
That was an insightful post indeed ( just as Terungwa has remarked). A lot of us went into blogging forgetting the basics.

Little wonder the impact is not there. However, its good we have time to correct some of the mistakes done before started.

Thankfully, posts like this take us back to the basics! I think every blogger ( newbie and experts) needs to read this post.

  9. Hi there Babanature,
I have been writing for a while now and have not given enough attention to “getting out there” and promoting. So, these are ideas I need to use. Thank you. I like writing and building relationships, but I do need to try some of these new paths.

    Barb

    1. Hello Barb,
Building relationship with other bloggers is also one great way to increase your blog traffic. And also adding the above tips will surely boost your blog visibility.
Thanks for stopping by and dropping your comment. Do have a good week ahead…

    1. Hello Devinder,
The reasons i think they don’t publish your post is simply because your post is based on promotions and review. Bizsugar only accept posts that deals with traffic generation, business or blogging tips. If your blog don’t fall under this categories, your post won’t get accepted. Hope you understand?

  10. Hey Babanature,

I’m finding that engagement is key to get your traffic started. As long as you’re being seen in different social media sites and blog, engaging, and leaving valuable comments (with a little personality) this will definitely catch the eye of some people. Especially those that are in your target market. You pointed this out and this is what I found out last year when I really started blogging seriously. When you add the other tips that you mentioned, then you’re as good as gold! Thanks for sharing!

  11. Hi Babanature! 🙂 well i’ve been kinda like a ghost reader of your blog for over 6 months now, but today, i’ve decided that i must comment
Well nice post you’ve got there, and i can attest to the fact that REDDIT is one very great source of traffic (and backlink too 😈 ) and like u mentioned, they (redditors) don’t like errors at allll! 😳 mehn! Most of those guys are critics, one single mistake in your facts and you are dead! 😥 although i’m enjoying the conversation over there 😉

    1. Hey Kay,
It’s good to finally see the man behind the mask right? Thanks for being a regular reader of my blog.
It is good to know that you’re also getting traffic from reddit and also know how to play their game 🙂
Thanks for the comment and do have a wonderful week ahead…

  12. This is a very resourceful article. I am familiar and utilise some while got no interest in others but your post will really get me engage in those ones i don’t use. Thanks for the eye opening article.

    1. Most welcome Miracle,
When building traffic, it is good to get em from all corners. If you can follow this post, i am sure you’re going to love it.
Thanks for stopping by and dropping your comment. Do have a best week ahead…

  13. Hey Babanature,

Traffic is something I understand, but still have struggle with (I think it’s because I don’t put enough effort into it). I am certainly trying to do more, through social media and guest posting.

My plan is to devote just first 3 months to traffic generation (It’s the second month now)…the rest is for other projects. So far, it has been good, but not as I expected. I certainly need to do more 😀

With social media, I am focusing on Google Plus and Pinterest (to be honest, I don’t get much traffic from either of those..most of my SM traffic is from Twitter. But, I am experiencing great growth within the sites – gaining more followers, repins etc :D).

I have used Stumble Upon in the past..certainly planning to invest into it (later this year). But, I might move it to an earlier, considering that I am not getting expected results.

    Reddit is something I haven’t tried…Perhaps I should 😀

As for blog post ideas, these days, I come up with blog posts ideas through research (latest findings in psychology etc). Plus, I also have an idea exercise where I try to come up with at least one blog post idea a day 🙂

Anyways, thank you for sharing these amazing tips, Babanature 🙂 Appreciate it!

    1. Hello Jeevan,
You know, there is no better way of getter traffic then to make strong connection with other bloggers.
I asure you that if you can fully master reddit and stumbleupon, your traffic will be unbelievable. (I can attest to that)
Thanks for stopping by and dropping your comment, do have a good week ahead

  14. To be honest with you, I think there is one thing getting traffic to your blog and the other earning in more cash from it. My blog brings a lot of traffic but my affiliate site with less than 100 per month earns me more simply because those visitors are targeted.

    1. You are right Emmanuel, that’s why i say “valuable traffic” if the traffic is valuable, then it is targeted. Getting valuable traffic is the best thing that could happen to any blog.
Thanks for stopping by and dropping your comment. Do have a wonderful week ahead…

  15. Hi Bab! I love the voice of your post. Traffic is the next thing if you have an awesome blog. Engagement and exposure should be done and the list of platforms you showed us were revealing especially with Stubleupon. I will surely check it out and surf the website and probably get familiar, it might be helpful to me. Thanks for this!

I found this post shared on Kingged.com, the Internet marketing social bookmarking and networking site, and I “kingged” it and left this comment.

  16. Hey babanature,

your all article are just awesome and this post is also wonderful. I would must appreciate your writing talent and your thought. you always try to serve your readers something new and extra that we love so much.

In this post you also included some very usable points that will help us a lot. Keep informing us By such type of great articles.

I got this post on kingged.com and become forced to read complete post. I really enjoyed this post. 🙂

  17. Hi Baba nature,
indeed you’ve said alot, you’ve just said it all social bookmarking sites, social networks and bloggers communities do play a great role, thanks for such a great article.

  18. From the starting time of my blogging career I am not a big fan of social sites. I think one reason behind is I think that all not working well according to my desire. And other reason is that I think it’s waste of time for me because not a good amount of friends in my list and circles… BUt I’ll take a try and keep you update with the result. Hope it helps better for me Babanature.
