Use of hash tags:

Ahhh… I just learned how to use harsh tag effectively about 2 weeks ago and it feels great using them. The first time I used the hash tag on one of my posts, the impact I got was like x times two of what I was getting from my Google+ network.

Google plus hash tags

One of the main reasons we use social media is to get exposed to a wider reach, right? Exactly like twitter, the Google plus hash tag gets your post from beyond your friends, circles, communities to a wider audience. Take for example; search for #bloggingtips in your community search bar. If the result shows up, check and see how many users are in that hash search result.

Tip: Use as many hash tags when making the comment to your post, like the example image above. Using more hash tag will cut your blog post to even more and wider audience…

Hey! If you have not started using the Google plus hash tag, start using it now to help your blog reach audience you’ve always dreamt of and gain more traffic from what you have been getting 🙂

  1. Hi Babanature,

I couldn’t agree with you more – G+ is really coming up, in-fact it’s got great potential that we all still need to tap.

Let me share another secret with you. While you add the hastags in the comments and join communities, I share the hastags when I share my post on G+, so this ways all those who are in your circles, and the ones who read the hastags you have added, would be reading your post – it’s not just limited to the comments that ways.

I’d tried this long back when G+ came up, and it’s been working perfectly for me. I’ve yet to join more communities than I already have joined, though the interaction there takes time, which is something I need to create 🙂

Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead 🙂

  13. Hey Babanature,

This is truly an eye opener for me. I’ve been on Google Plus for over a year now but have not really been doing these things except claim my blog. I understood from the beginning that Google Plus has a lot of good for bloggers but did not really care to focus much of it. Thanks for these wake up call!

    1. Hello Chadrack,
Google+ is one of the best-est thing that has ever happened to a blogger. Aside for claiming of sites, it can also be use as a tool for business purposes and traffic strategies. Start using the full potential of G+ and see what it can offer. Thanks for stopping by and dropping a comment, i appreciate 😉

  14. Communities are the place to be Babanature.

Sifting through the general stream is OK but targeting your buddies and potential readers by spending most time in groups makes your job easier.

I belong to about 8 communities, 2 of which are tribe sharing groups which I visit daily.

By hanging with leaders you can see a serious traffic surge through Google Plus.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Ryan

    1. Hey Ryan,

I tdon’t know that we should use the hash tags in G+, i never used it! How I missed?

Anyway learned it through your post and will do as you told.

Am aware of other two points of G+ to get traffic and thanks for writing the unknown stuffs for the bloggers 🙂

  16. You’re so right, Babanature.
Even if you do not love G+ as a social networking site (which it was meant to be initially), we HAVE to use it because of the value of G+ shares and the mileage that our blog/ website tends to get if we use it.

  17. Hey Baba,
Google plus really an awesome source to drive traffic for our blog i do agree the points which you have mentioned. Many communities are available make sure to join the right one and share your post and also try to add the people on your circles will help to get more G+ count and reshare enjoyed reading your post

  18. Hey Babanature,

I’m so bad about not using hashtags. Okay, I’m from the old school so I don’t abbreviate words either. I type them out, just a pet peeve of mine so getting use to using hashtags is still something I haven’t implemented much. I really need to make a conscious effort to do more of that everywhere really, not just Google+.

I’m not part of a lot of communities, just two so far. I just really don’t have the time to spend in a lot of them and I hate being a part of something I don’t have time for. As you probably can assume, I’ve got a pretty large reach right now as it is so being sure to visit everyone and help promote them is almost a full time job in itself. But I would love to meet some new bloggers and of course introduce them to my place so I’ll have to accept more invitations to join because I have a lot sitting there waiting on me too.

Thanks for another great post with actionable steps everyone can take to improve their traffic through Google+.

    Enjoy your week.

    ~Adrienne

    1. Hello Adrienne,
That makes us two 🙂 I also hate abbreviations, i still wonder the first person that brought that up 🙂 . With the large community that i joined, before i make a comment to my link, i’ll draft the comment down and place my hash tags that. then when i go to the communities, i’ll just copy and paste. this methods truly helps reduce the writing and hash stress. Thanks for the comment and hope you’re having a fabulous week? 😀

  19. Hi Babanature…
