5 Reasons That Shows You Are Also A Lazy Blogger

Let me be the first to admit that I am also a lazy blogger. Yes! You too are a lazy blogger, because I know that you know deep down in you that there are a lot of things you want to do to your blog but you just haven’t done yet. Don’t think the reason you haven’t done those things you wanted to do is because you’re busy, the main reason is simply called laziness…

Lazy-Bloggers

Let’s check our Wikipedia to know the simple but powerful word called laziness: Laziness (also called indolence) is disinclination to activity or exertion despite having the ability to do so. Now you have it 😀

Laziness can grow to become a habit which is very bad for both you and your blog. Keeping a healthy blog does not only mean you clean and maintain your blog frequently, it also means that you check and fix things around your blog, like; web traffic, commenting, socializing e.t.c…

Let me tell you a little story about one of my “lazy” attitude that I finally gave up: In February 2013 (which is this year), I said to myself that it’s time to take my blogs to the next level of making money. I decided that I want to join the affiliate marketing world. I have read some great books and E-books that are of the chain, I have even consulted and collected some advice from my blogger friends but still I was just too busy to join the affiliate world of marketing. Now I have the skill because I have read enough books and a little bit of guidance from my blogger friends, now it’s time to enter the battle field and applied what I have learnt, but… I was too damn busy to start the affiliate business. I wonder what was wrong with me, I mean I can do other stuffs, like; promoting my blog post over like 150 communities and social networks a day, I have the time to write posts for all my blogs, even have the time to maintain and create other blogs, but I just don’t have the spare time to start one thing that is also important.

I thought it was time but I keep postponing the task until one day I discovered that the problem is not time management but the main issue is “laziness”. I had to flush the laziness down the toilet and now, I am an affiliate marketer 🙂 . I started this month and I have sold one product so far 🙂

5 Reasons That Shows You Are Also A Lazy Blogger

lazy-blogger

You might not agree with me that you are also a lazy blogger but here are some few things you do that shows to the public that you are a lazy blogger 🙂

You do not guest post:

You might not see this as laziness but I do. You have blog that is going 3yrs and you haven’t done any guest post? Why haven’t you done at-list one or 4 guest post in your 3yrs of blogging? If you have not done guest posting before or you have done just one, then you are lazy but if you fall into this category and you feel it’s not laziness, please do let us know by using the comment box below

You don’t post at your posting time:

If you are posting every Monday’s and Thursday’s around 9:04am GMT and suddenly you shifted the days to Wednesday’s and Sunday’s 4:04pm GMT. After a while, you shifted your blog post to once a week. The only reason I see here is, you’re a lazy blogger that is so lazy to come up with posts topic and therefore, losing the spirit of blogging.

You do not visit your commentators’ blog:

We all know that it takes time for someone to comment on any blog. Once somebody comments on your blog, it is good to complement the persons’ effort by going back to their blog and return the favor by commenting back on their blogs (if the post is interesting) but if you are not returning the favor, you’re a lazy blogger.

I know that some bloggers would say that it is not compulsory to visit commentators’ blog and drop a valuable comment but have you consider the huge positive impact it will also land on your blog? It will increase your web traffic, it will also give you backlinks and most of all it will attract your commentators to always come back and that can build a good relationship.

You don’t backup your blog:

You only blog two times a week and over 2yrs you have been blogging brilliantly. You have 70 plug-ins installed on your WordPress blog, you have deleted and re-upload even more plug-ins. One day, your blog crashes and the bad part is, you did not save your blogs data, which mean you don’t have a backup of your blog. Hey! You are nothing but a lazy blogger. Period 😀

You are just not trying enough:

Like my elder brother would always tell me; do not play with your blog because it’s your business. When you’re being lazy, it will affect your blogging carrier by making you not advancing. My suggestion to you all bloggers is to leave those online habits and focus on what’s important, which is your blog.

One question:

Do you have any other reason that qualify a blogger as a lazy blogger? Please I’d really love to see your comments by using the comment box below to share them. Let’s keep the room lively you’all.

  1. Hi Babanature

This is really incredible bro, I’ve glance through your post an i find it very useful. With these post i have no choice than to make corrections in my blogging career, i couldn’t believe some of the outlined tips could stand as a stumbling block from being a successful Blogger. Thanks so much for boosting my blogging mentality.

  2. Hi Babanature,

Awesome post indeed to wake us all up from our lazy slumber 🙂

Congratulations firstly on entering into the affiliate marketing niche and I wish you the best in this new field too! Well, for me, I don’t think you are lazy at all. In-fact I wonder how you manage your time so well and take care of so many things, which is commendable. Not to mention the new movie blog also that you created – which also needs maintenance and keeping it updated.

I agree with all of your points and I AM guilty of the first one, though not due to laziness but the lack of time at my end. But this is on my to-do list when I am back from vacation. I know the potential guest posts have and might just start with a few, though frankly speaking I don’t feel I miss much by not guest posting because I’m a pretty content and happy person and am grateful for the traffic and people that come over to my blog 🙂

Yes, you certainly are lazy if you aren’t visiting at least those bloggers who visit your blogs, which I feel is basic courtesy. If they can take out the time and effort to come over to yours, read, comment, and share your posts – why can’t you? And I don’t think there’s any topic we can’t relate to being online for such a long time – isn’t it, so that’s no reason according to me. Yes, certain bloggers might not visit because they feel their blogs aren’t from the same niche, which again I find very strange.

I also agree about your point about keeping a proper blogging time and schedule, which is important because your readers wait for that after having being with you for a while. I do that myself, though being on vacation presently, because of the slow Internet connections to the places I’m visiting, my schedule is running a few hours later than usual. But that’d be alright as soon as I’m back, because I believe in doing that myself.

Thanks for sharing these reasons with us. Have a nice week ahead 🙂

    1. Hello Harleena,
Thank you for seeing me as a hard working blogger and so are you 🙂 Yeah i have many blogs i maintain and always make sure they are up to date but at list i have i weakness which i tried and eventually defeated 🙂

At times not being able to do some things might look like its because you don’t have the time, but in real sense, it is not about the time but about being lazy 🙂 . Thanks for your wonderful comment my friend and you too have a great week ahead…

  3. Lazy bloggers reproduce contents from other blogs. They are too lazy to do thorough research and come out with proven articles. What about that bro?

  4. Wow these are indeed great indications of laziness in blogging, if you are a serious blogger you must always keep to your publishing calendar and follow your commenters links to their blog to check them out, infact another reason why one could be termed a lazy blogger if he such a fellow do not read.

We as bloggers must always read to improve, if you do not read and study to become better as a blogger then you are a lazy blogger. Thanks for sharing such an amazing post, i won’t let myself be called a lazy blogger ever.

    1. Hey Nwosu,
Yeah! being lazy and not able to do some thing you wanted to do with your blog is bad. I can see that in some angle we might be lazy but afraid to say it; when you take time to do something that called laziness 🙂 Thanks for the contribution, i truly appreciate it 😉

  5. My friend call it not laziness but inspiration. Every time when he feels like doing nothing he tell everyone – “I took a break to get some inspiration”/ Maybe it makes sense))) Should check it out.

  6. Hey Bro,
i agree with your points which normally bloggers do i have seen some blogs with no updates and i have tried to contact that guy but no response from him then 2 months later blog was in renewal mode but the post on his blog are really worth one

    1. on some cases, it might not be laziness. maybe he’s caught up to something so those not have the time for his blog. thanks for stopping by bro and dropping a lovely comment. Have a nice day…

  7. Oh wow, good reminder about the back-ups. You could be lazy, or you could just be not very technically minded like I am, but this has given me a kick in the pants to get into some of my sites and get them dealt with ASAP. Thanks for the great list of tips!

This sort of serves as a Blogging 101 in general.

    1. Hello Carmen,
You do not need any technical expertise to backup your blog, because there are enough plugins that can perform it for you. Thanks for stopping by and do have a blessed week ahead… 🙂

  8. Seems you’re rocking on the blogosphere Babanature.

If those 5 are the only reasons that show the blogger’s laziness, than I think I’m not one of them.

    1. Hey Ehsan,
lol 🙂 that’s why i said at the end to give me yours. tell us what you have not done on your blog… Thanks for stopping by bro and dropping a comment here. do have a great week ahead 🙂

  9. I like telling folks that blogging – for business – is like opening a corner store.

You need to show up 6 to 7 days weekly and work 8 to 12 hours daily to first learn how to blog, then you need to put your knowledge into practice.

This is like running an offline business. You cannot be lazy and prosper.

    Thanks for sharing!

    Ryan

  10. For me it is all about free time. I just don’t have as much time available as I used to. I guess you could call it being lazy, but for me I have non-blog web related projects that I work on. It’s tough to balance the two. I sometimes ask myself should I work on a blog post or work on my other projects.

One thing I will admit though is I tend to get less done in summer months because I am tempted to get outside and enjoy the nice weather more.

  11. hi there babanature. i extremely agree the failure to backup your blog shows being lazy. installing a plugin that allows to send you back up of your blog every week will require a few minutes of our time and that can only be done once. sometimes i log in to my hosting provider to get a back up of my blog aside from receiving back ups via mail

    1. Hello Merilyn,
I have had problem with my site once and i did not have a backup because i was just too lazy to backup. but after my problem, i started backing up my blogs databases so incase any problem arises. Thanks for the comment and do have a lovely weekend my friend 🙂

  12. Yesterday I was about to smash my PC. I’ve installed a theme, some fancy colors had which interested me, after I activated my website goes offline, I couldn’t delete theme from WP panel, I had to login into my Godaddy hosting account manager and delete theme, do not worked as it should and I restore the backup I did 2 days ago. Well… I lost 39 mods, however I published them back in 5 hours of work or so because packs wasn’t deleted after backup restore. Tough day was yesterday. Hope never encounter this.

Best regards from I. C. Daniel

  13. Hi Ehsan, I would add not putting in images on your posts. A plain old post with no images or paragraphs broken up to scan is a sign of a lazy blogger to me.

  14. Hope it is an alert post for the bloggers “not to lazy anymore”

Yes, accepting your point of views and hope am not a lazy blogger.

A blogger who are not in a mood to learn the new blogging stuffs is also considered as a lazy blogger.

    Nice post, enjoyed reading it!

  15. Have I been a lazy Blogger??? nah I don’t think so… well maybe a little :D… I’ve just been to busy as a teenage/student Blogger…. sometimes I wonder how I’m able to cope with blogging as a student from this part of the world… LOL… Anyway Nice post Boss!

  16. Hey Babanature,

a friend mine told me this quote: “the hardest working people in the world or the laziest”. This goes back to what you were saying when you didn’t start affiliate marketing although you were doing everything else. So definitely I agree with you when you said that we’re all lazy.

At the same time, we want to become that lazy entrepreneur so that we don’t have to keep doing so much physical work. We want to find the easiest way of doing things. I remember reading a Bill Gates quote that said something like, He rather hire the laziest person because they’re going to find the easiest way of doing the job.

Great subject Babanature! Thanks for sharing!

    1. Hello Sherman,
You have said it all; The people who get job done easier are the lazy ones. A lazy blogger does not mean the blogger can’t work or can’t do the job, but just don’t want to do it at the moment 🙂

I am so agree with the points you raised. Thanks for the comment and do have a lovely weekend as well

  17. Ouch Babanature,

So I’m lazy because I don’t write guest posts? I have in the past but I don’t have time anymore so trust me, it’s not because I’m lazy. I would think that the majority of them don’t because they’re scared of what people will think. That’s just my opinion.

I don’t know if I would say that not formatting your blog posts would be a form of laziness or that people are always in a rush and just throw them up there and go. I’ve seen some posts that don’t even have paragraphs and that’s so hard for me to read.

I think that we’re all lazy to an extent. I’m feeling very lazy today yet here I am on your blog commenting and I have a lot more work ahead of me today.

Interesting though what you define as being lazy. I think I would have to say it has more to do with being disorganized or not motivated enough.

    Enjoy your weekend.

    ~Adrienne

    1. Hello Adrienne,
Hmmm… At times in some situations, excuses might not be the solution, ya know. Some people don’t have the time for there blog, and most of us don’t do guest posts “like me and you” 🙂 .

Thanks for the admitting That we all are lazy in some extent 🙂 . Do have yourself a great weekend my friend

  18. Hi Babanature,

First, congratulations on taking the step to pursue Affiliate Marketing.

I totally agree with Harleena, you do work hard and it shows through your blog posts, through syndicating them and blog hopping and commenting. You are really doing a great job Babanature. It amazes me sometimes.

I agree on all the points you mentioned Babanature but let me say that not all bloggers have the same life circumstances, some still have full-time jobs, some are mothers with little kids, like myself, who need attending and caring, some are caring for aged parents and the list can go on and on. This is not an excuse but I believe it depends how bad you want to succeed and how strong is your “WHY” and that’s what will drive us to work hard and it all affects us at the end if we are lazy or not.

Thanks Babanature for a great reminder! I have to push myself more after reading this post. Have a great weekend ahead.

    Be Blessed,

    Neamat

    1. Hello Neamat,
First thanks for the complement my friend.
Everybody have job they do and our job is blogging right? at list blogging can have a time schedule if your time is limited. Remember that laziness is not a bad thing but letting it consume you is. Thanks for the comment my friend and do have your self a wonderful weekend 🙂

  19. Hey! I’m also a lazy blogger. I miss frequently to backup my blog. Howerver, I visit the blogs of my commenters and set out to guest blogging some times.

I really liked the idea of defining laziness to prove each of us are lazy in one or another aspect. Enjoyed reading.

    1. Hello Suresh,
Thanks for admitting it, we are all lazy bloggers but on different view and style. It’s only a lazy blogger that will do a work simpler and in a faster way. Thanks for the comment Suresh and do have a blessed weekend 🙂

  20. Hi Babanature,
This is such an awesome blog title I must confess, anyway You are right when you call someone with such characteristics a lazy blogger. The truth about this whole issue of blogging and the blogosphere is that, if you wish to be successful, then you shouldn’t be found wanting in this above mentioned 5 reasons. Thanks for sharing this with us.

  21. Babanature,
We are all lazy in some ways. We all need motivation.
This post is a reminder for all lazy bloggers, including myself.
This is definitely a wake up call.
    Thanks.
    -Seun

  22. Yes!!! I support the fact that changing publishing time may arise from laziness but all the same if such a blogger can shuttle his/her publishing time to suit his/her visitor can still be ok

  23. This i what i really love about your blog ..You post content having both humor and serious information for us to learn …Anyways ,I think i should start backing-up my blogs data to avoid myself falling in this category of bloggers .. 😀 .Keep up the good-work Baba

    Regards,
    Pramod

  24. Soumitra Swapan Chakraborty

A very purposeful and truthful article. Very nicely written.I have to say that i m also a lazy blogger

    1. Hey,
Thanks for admitting it as well. we all have our weak spots so you’d say that we all are lazy at some point. thanks for stopping by and do have a lovely weekend 🙂

  25. babanature..this is really gud..i luv reading post like this..i have a question to ask..what if you are always posting new stuffs but your readers dont comment on ur blog post?
