To take down a blog that “copy and paste” contents from your blog, you will need to file a DMCA complaint. Filing a successful DMCA complaint, will remove the blog post from Google search permanently.

What’s DMCA: According to WIKIPEDIA; Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) is a United States copyright law that implements two 1996 treaties of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). It criminalizes production and dissemination of technology, devices, or services intended to circumvent measures (commonly known as digital rights management or DRM) that control access to copyrighted works.

Thank God, Google do offer a DMCA takedown for free. What I mean is; you can report any blog that copied your blog’s content to Google and the copied content will be removed from Google Search immediately.

How do you file a Google DMCA complaint?

  2. Hi Babanature,

    A much-needed tutorial indeed 🙂

Honestly speaking, I’ve not gone through this phase of content being copied as such, so never needed to go through the ordeal, but yes, I have read that DMCA does help, once you report such issues. Shall bookmark it for sure, in case it’s needed in the future.

Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead 🙂

If you are running a tutorial blog or blog tips blog, there will always be bloggers who’ll want to copy your contents to their blogs.

Some of these bloggers will seek permission and many don’t ask for permission. So reporting these bloggers who don’t give you credit is just the best thing.
