On today’s blog post, we are going to show you how to solve the “Add Toner Cannot Copy or print” error you get when you turn on your digital copier.

At first, when I experienced the “Add Toner Cannot Copy or print” error, I thought the toner in the toner cartridge has finished.
So I went to a store close to me that sell copy machine parts and bought a sharp AR toner. I added more toner to the toner cartridge thinking that the problem will end, but it didn’t solve the problem.
At the end of the day, I did manager to troubleshoot and found out the problem that’s causing the error message through the help of an engineer. 😉
Add Toner Cannot Copy or print Error: Solution
If you are having the “Add Toner Cannot Copy or print” error message on the screen of your digital copier, you won’t be able to make copy, print or scan.
To solve this problem, simply enter simulation mode by pressing *, #, c, * or #, *, CA, # and press 14, tap the green button (print button) two times and the copier will restart itself.
If the problem persists, the toner cartridge sensor is broken; get a replacement and replace the old sensor with the new one and your copier will start working normally.
In case you are wondering, the sensor is located at the end part of the toner cartridge. This is how a sensor looks like (image of the toner sensor below)

On printer my both cartridges. unable to detect. Printer not identified my cartridges
It must be the sensor of the cartridge, it is broken. Replace it and your cartridge problem will be resolved.

We added a new toner on a Nashua printer but it still states “add toner”

You will have to change the toner sensor. The sensor is normally located at the end of the toner cartridge
Please my sharp Ar 5127 copier/printer displays add toner cannot copy or print after I have added toner
You will need to change the toner cartridge sensor. Doing so, it will start working again
